Puppies are now all gone

We are happy and sad to say that the puppies are now all with their new families. We are pleased that all of them went to loving homes. Oreo, who is now known as Lexie is with my mom and dad. She has their little malitpoo as a sister and is learning how to pick on her quite fast. Dragon and Corvette are with co-workers of Jason's. Jedi is with his great grandpa Lucky. They found us by chance. It was fate that they came to look at the puppies and we showed them Diablo's papers and their dog was hos great grandpa. His name is staying Jedi. Double Stuff went to a really nice guy who came over and played with him for about an hour and a half and then went and got tons of stuff for him and came back to get him. He seems like he will be one spoiled pup! Hopefully we will get updates from the new families soon so we can let everyone know how they are doing.

7 and a half weeks, and almost gone

Hi! I'm Double Stuff! I am still waiting to find my new family! I am super cute and lovable! Come on by and see me and you'll want to take me home!

This is Diablo. He is the puppies Daddy!

This is Lexi (previously Oreo). She will be going to her new home at our parents! So we are lucky enough to be able to continue to see her!

The puppies are now 7 1/2 weeks old, and only Double Stuff remains. All the others are still with us, but have been adopted by their new families. The puppies will be ready to go to their new homes, this Sunday, March 15th! We hope to continue to see the puppies and get updates on them often.

3 weeks and walking

Well, the puppies are now 3 weeks old and growing well. They are so so so cute. They are super friendly and don't care if the kids pick them up. They love to be held. The kids play with them often. Hopefully they won't be too attached. We keep telling them that they are going to other homes, so there won't be a surprise come March 15th, when the puppies are old enough to go to their permanent homes. This past weekend, I sent away for their papers, so they should be here soon. All the puppies are AKC eligible. The new owners don't have to paper them, but we want to give them that option. They also started to sort of eat puppy food. When we feed Jetta, they all surround the bowl and try to eat as well. Jetta will take food into her mouth and chew it up and spit it back out for them when she is done eating.

By the looks of it right now, they look like they are all going to be the rare black and silver color German Shepherds. But, that can change. None of Jetta's siblings got color right away, but all of ours are pretty light and have a lot of color. I guess we will have to wait and see......All five puppies. Jedi, Oreo, Dragon, Double Stuff, and the unnamed puppy.

l

This is Aiden holding "Dragon". He is the middle size boy puppy.

Ari holding "Oreo". Oreo's real new name is Lexi, but she says she is still calling her Oreo. She is the smallest puppy. Oreo/Lexi likes to kiss Ari. She kept licking her all over her face, so Ari had to take another shower after the puppies went to bed.

This is Noah playing with "Jedi". He is the smallest boy.

Jinelle holding Double Stuff. He is still the biggest, but he is so dang cute. He is so fluffy and fat that you can't help but love the little guy.

We started putting collars on them, but they can get them off. They just velcro on. We will use them to identify the puppies as people pick them out, plus we will most likely write on their bellies as well (So when the collars do come off, we can still tell them apart). So far, the kids can tell them all apart without them, but it is easier to me to say, which color and they tell me so I just grab the puppy with the color collar that they want out.

2 Weeks

Well, our puppies are now two weeks old. All are doing great.
They all have their eyes open and are beginning to learn to walk. They mostly still crawl, but are starting to try to get up and walk on their paws. The kids are naming them, but they keep changing their names......so we'll see. Pretty soon, we will know some of their actual names and will start using those, until then.....we have.......Double stuff, Oreo, Dragon, Jedi, and one doesn't have a name. Five puppies and only four kids to name them. So, we'll have to wait til it gets its real name......
Jedi, with Noah (boy)
Oreo (girl) with Ari (Oreo is most likely the one that Grandpa will be getting for his birthday.)
Aiden holding Dragon (Boy)
(right to left) Double Stuff, Oreo, and dragon (boy, girl, boy)
Double stuff yawning....
This is how they like to sleep. Two look like they are kissing, while a third lays on top.

Poor Noah hates his room right now. Its right next to "puppyland" (aka the kids bathroom) and the puppies whine when Jetta gets up and leaves them, and Noah says they keep him up. But every time I go into Noah's room, he's asleep. I just think its an excuse to stay up or to sleep in my room.

Ari holding red girl.

Noah holding the porker....White boy
Jinelle cuddling Blue boy.
Jetta feeding all five of her pups. They LOVE to eat! It seems so funny for her to be so white and all them to be black, but I guess that Diablo's genes are just that dominant. I guess he has to be dominant in something. She is usually the Alpha dog! She keeps her man in line!
This is Red Boy. He is currently 22 ounces.

This is White Boy. He is the biggest at 25.5 ounces.
This is Blue Boy. He is 21.5 ounces now. The smallest boy...for now.
This is blue girl. She is 24 ounces. She has gained the most weight from birth.
This is red girl. She is currently the smallest at 19.5 ounces.

Introducing our new puppies. This is our little girl. I gave them each a color to keep track of their weights. She is Blue Girl. The kids will give them names in a few weeks when they are easier to tell apart and have personalities

This is white boy.

Gaining weight

All five puppies are gaining weight. I have begun to weigh them twice a day, making sure they are growing. But by the looks of things, they all love to eat. Every time we venture back to see them, they are all latched on and eating away. For this, I am grateful. Time will tell how they all turn out, but we are hopeful they are all going to do great. They will be able to go to their new homes no earlier than March 15th, so perfect St. Patrick's Day puppies! Maybe I'll send them to their new homes with green ribbons around their necks or something festive.

Sad news

Last night, we noticed that one little pup was always away from the rest, not eating, and crying weird, almost like a baby. We kept an eye on it and it wasn't eating. We went to the store and got a puppy bottle and formula, but it still wouldn't eat. We even tried to feed it with a dropper, forcing it to eat, but nothing helped. We tried and tried, but we couldn't save this pup. The vet warned us that this may happen. It was definetly the runt, weighing almost half of what the biggest weighs. Hopefully she didn't suffer too much. So, now we are keeping a close watch on the others, weighing them often and making sure they are eating. This morning, all five others were latched on and eating a lot. We will keep you updated. I will tkae more pics and post later this afternoon.

The Puppies are here! Six little black puppies. They all have color on them already. There are three boys and three girls! Noah is excited, because that is the same as our family!
Ari wants to name the one that is completely in the pic Oreo. It has white on its chest and belly and paws!

Jetta is being a great mom! She doesn't mind the kids in looking at them. She is doing great as well.

They are here....

Tonight, Jetta started having her puppies. So far, there are four. She isn't done yet! So far, they are all black in color. One has white on its chin, belly, and paws. We haven't checked their sexes yet, but we will a little later. We will keep this updated. Probably tomorrow when she is all done, and when we know how many girls and how many boys. The kids are all super excited. Also, we will post pics tomorrow as well.

Jetta is expecting....we think!

This is Diablo. Well actually, "Diablo Lamborghini Stiber" is his AKC Registered name. He was born on May 19th, 2007. He is a pure-bred all black German Shepherd.

This is Jetta, "Jetta Volkswagen Stiber" as she is registered. She was born on June 30th, 2007. She is a pure-bred all white German Shepherd. She is one of the first puppies born to Audi and Quattro, our sister & mom's dogs.
They are very loving, and kid friendly. We believe Jetta is expecting her first litter later this month. Probably around the 25th of January. The reason we aren't sure is because, unlike humans, there is no way to test for pregnancy in dogs, until sheis a little further along. So, if she is, then we will be having a litter of pups soon. We hope to be able to keep you all updated on the progress of the litter and hopefully, when the puppoes all go to their new homes, we can keep in contact and everyone can see updates on the other pups.
One of Jetta's brother is a bed bug dog in Canada and another is a firehouse dog in Mexico. We also get to see her sister and brother, who live at another family members house, often, as well as her parents ALL THE TIME, as they live next door.
